Clark Atlanta Or College Of Alameda For 2yrs Then Transferring?
I am sooo stressed! I originally planned to attend Clark Atlanta University for 2 yrs. and try to transfer to NYU, Columbia, or a UC, Now im in my financial enrollment process for CAU and $30,000 seems like a lot. What are the pros and cons of going to CAU (a private university) for 2yrs vs. going to a community college like College of Alameda for 2yrs. and transferring?

In these hard economic times, community colleges are becoming very popular for the exact reason you are talking about. Depending on if your parents put money away for your education, you could emerge from college with a hefty loan debt.
Community colleges are typically a good value for the money. BUT – it is important to keep in mind that what credits transfer is totally up to the school you are transferring to – this wold be true if you went to CAU for two years also – whether or not all your credits transferred would be up to NYU or Columbia, or wherever.
Visit the NYU and Columbia websites and see what info they have for transfer students – this is really the single most important thing you need to do – to make sure you don’t waste time and money on classes that will not transfer!
Good luck!
