Find the Best in Atlanta

Looking For A Nice Church In Atlanta?

I live in Atlanta (Vinings) and I’m looking for a church home. I want to visit churches with a nice person. I’m interested in a mostly black church (I’m black) and……
-nice medium-sized church. I don’t like really huge churches (no Antioch, no World Changers, etc).
-baptist or methodist is OK, but prefer non-denominational.
-the church should be active with community service and activities to give, feed, teach, babysit, camps, social workers, etc, etc. I’d like to get involved and help like a Big Brother activity.
-I prefer a really good preacher/sermon over lots of singing. I don’t like a long drawwwwwn out, remix of the remixed original hym, watch-this-diva-SANG type singing. its nice sometimes but not for 80% of the church service.
as you can see, I know what I prefer. I attended a similar church before I moved to Atlanta. I’m open to visit several churches until I feel at home.

Did you know that Atlanta was once called “The city of churches”? … just a bit of trivia.

Check the lists below for ones nearby (there was no listing for Vinings proper) – some of them provide website links and all have phone numbers. If you find something that interests you, have them send you a bulletin!http://www.cobbchamber.com/county/relo/p…

    Here’s a few I’m familiar with:
Turner Chapel AME http://www.turnerchapelame.org Marietta, near the square. I used to be a member and it is a nice church.
Destiny World Church – Marietta near Terrell Mill
Word of Faith – near 6 Flags
If you are interested in more diversity (and getting out on time, every time), try Trinity Chapel, which is my current church, http://www.trinitychapel.org or Mt. Paran Church of God, which is right in your neighborhood. http://www.mtparan.org. My friend goes there and she loves it.

Mount Paran on Mount Paran. It’s Church of God. Always a good message. No they don’t role around on the floor. There’s also Grace United Methodist Church on Ponce de Leon. It’s pretty diverse. Also a good message.
