Atlanta City Guide

Where Should A Young Person Out Of College Live, Dallas, Jacksonville, Or Atlanta?

I am in my mid 20′s and just graduated college with an engineering degree. Finding a job should not be a problem. I enjoy outdoors, particularly near water. Can anyone give me a good insight into these three cities; especially for young people. Thanks.

What kind of engineering are you in? If its based on oil and petroleum etc, stick to Dallas. If its others (Civil, Structural, Electrical) then any of those will do. As for mid 20′s, I would go with Dallas or Atlanta. The metro area’s in those cities are quite hip and urban and with lots of things to do. We are moving to Atlanta pretty soon and cant wait. Unfortunately, my husband is a Mechanical Engineer and based in the petroleum industry and its hard to find a job there based on his experience. He is having to branch out…

I am a engineer but live near chicago so pick a big city to be near by if you don’t wan to live exactly near dallas. what type of engineering do you do. I am a biomedical engineer and work in abbot labotories.

Atlanta. That city is sprawling so fast that within 10 years the suburbs will reach Western NC (where I live). We have some of the best kayaking, great bike and hiking trails and beautiful scenery you can find in the USA. Fact!

LOL – I notice Pennsylvania isn’t on your list Mr. Pennst8! I live in PA and I hear you loud and clear. Nobody’s young here – not even the young people!
Have you thought about the West Coast – San Diego – LOTS of young, smart people, lots of money to be made and on the water. Also, perfect weather, quite literally year round. No tornadoes or humidity. Also, Venice Beach area in LA – beaucoup cool -

Jacksonville is great. I moved here 3 years ago. Strong economy, good job market, young hip population. The beach is close and the weather is great too.
Atlanta is and Dallas are way bigger and busier cities than Jacksonville. If I were you I would go with the J

    Don’t know much about America.
Or you could try SG-1 the classic.
    Maybe a bit of Columbo.
Some place where they don’t have many engineers. A small town near a big hub.

I’d suggest Dallas, there is always something to do, and you’re only a few hours from hiking in the mountains, or relaxing on a beach.

I’m 42 now and been all over. For what it is worth I would go to Jacksonville. More stuff to do, lakes, ponds, rivers and ocean.

Go with Atlanta, you’ll have more intellectual people your age from schools like Emory and Georgia Tech and Georgia State. Definitely Atlanta
