Why Buy A House In California For Half To One Million Dollars When In Georgia That Could Buy You A Mansion?

I’m just trying to make sense of it all. I have lived in California all my life. Then I was looking at the Atlanta homes on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” on Bravo, and they are so beautiful. So I checked on Craigslist and the home prices are so different out there! Gosh, even the condos are amazing, gorgeous.

Uh, because the wages are lower in Atlanta compared to California and you run the risk of experiencing the kind of racism you’ve seen in Time to Kill/To Kill a Mockingbird/Mississippi Burning…
But go for what you know…

because the house in california was worth half a million dollars few years ago and it will always worth more than the georgia house…assuming they are identical rental house.
by the way, in case you want to test the theory, try to factor 50% less gross rent as your operating income

While you are checking, go to monster.com or an equivalent website and take a look at how much you make and the job of your choice. If you can make the same income in Georgia go for it. But you can’t.

Well you have to admit that it is an awfully long commute from Georgia if you happen to work in California.

Because you’d have to live in Georgia. :)
